
Girls Cross Country Recaps
August 21, 2025
Congratulations to the girls cross country team on starting off the season with a second-place trophy in the large school division at the Birch Run Cross Country Invitational.
The girls had a great day of racing. Both fourth-place finisher Lydia Powers (19:55) and third-place finisher Lilah Weber (19:48) broke the school record. Nadia Cordes (ninth place) and Evie McCreedy (39th place) also medaled at the meet.
This was a great first meet for the team. The summer's hard work paid off. Great job, ladies!

On Tuesday, the girls cross country team competed in the first SVL South Jamboree of the season, coming in second place.
They were only five points behind a very tough Grand Blanc team.
The girls ran great with 12 runners placing higher than their pre-race seeds. Way to go!

Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country teams on two first-place finishes at the Lapeer County Press Meet.
Medal winners for the day were Lilah Weber (Meet Champion), Lydia Powers, Nadia Cordes, Ryann Tackabury, Avery Fidler, Elise Morey, Aubree Herr, Kayley Wood, Evie McCreedy, Karlee Herr, Sydney Oke, Liam Badyrka, Caleb Stern, Micah Stern and Hunter Hall.

Congratulations to the girls varsity cross country team on an outstanding performance at the Shepard Invitational on Saturday.
The girls placed 12th out of 28 teams.
Lilah Weber once again broke the school record with her 18th-place finish. Joining her at the medal award ceremony were Lydia Powers and Nadia Cordes. Aubree Herr, Karlee Herr and Evie McCreedy also ran season best times.
It was definitely a ️fast weekend! Great job, ladies!

Congratulations to the girls cross country team on a great performance at the SVL championship meet on Wednesday.
The school record was broken by Lydia Powers and 14 runners ran either a season best or lifetime best at the meet.
The varsity team finished in fourth place in a very competitive league with the following runners earning all-league honors: 1st Team - Lydia Powers and Lilah Weber, 2nd Team - Nadia Cordes, Honorable Mention - Avery Fidler, Aubree Herr, Karlee Herr, Evie McCreedy, Ryann Tackabury and Kaylee Wood.
Also, congratulations to the girls JV team on placing 2nd at the SVL championship meet.

Congratulations to the girls cross country team on a fine performance at an ultra-competitive regional meet this past Saturday.
For the first time ever, Lapeer had three girls running in the 19 minutes!
The varsity team finished in eighth place out of 15 teams and in the post-regional race, the girls JV team placed fourth out of 7 teams.
Personal bests were run by Lydia Powers (school record holder), Nadia Cordes, Kayley Wood, Cleo Ridley, Ali Turner, Payton Gourlay, Ava Turner and Ariel Guerrero.
Great job, ladies! The coaching staff is very proud of you.
