GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

September 5, 2025

The girls cross country team traveled to Algonac on Friday for their first meet of the season. The race presented a huge challenge with 17 teams, but the girls outpaced most of the teams as they finished in second overall!

The top girls for the Lightning:

  • Natalie Brownfield - 5th overall

  • Adrianna Ross - 11th

  • Ella McCreedy- 12th

  • Neveah Adkins - 18th

  • Teagan Weaver- 20th

  • Evelyn Herr - 29th

  • Amelia Burnaine - 34th

The team is next in action tomorrow Sept. 9 at Rolland-Warner at 4:15pm.

September 11, 2025

The girls' middle school cross country team competed at the Chesaning Invite on Thursday evening, placing third, just missing second by one point.

The top seven girls for the Lightning were:

  • Natalie Brownfield-6th overall

  • Adrianna Rosso-8th overall

  • Ella McCreedy-10th overall

  • Teagan Weaver-16th overall

  • Evelyn Herr -23rd

  • Nevaeh Adkins -25th

  • Amelia Bentz -26th

September 16, 2025

The girls cross country team defeated Grand Blanc East and Flushing at Almar Orchard. 

Leading the girls to the finish in first overall was Lapeer's Natalie Brownfield with a time of 14:11.

The next six girls for the Lightning were: Amelia Burnaine, Amelia Bentz, Evelyn Herr, Adrianna Rosso, Ella McCreedy and Teagan Weaver. 

Their next competition is Sept. 23 at Carman-Ainsworth at 4:15 p.m.

September 23, 2025

The Girls Cross Country team defeated Carman-Ainsworth and Grand Blanc West with a perfect score of 15.

Leading the way for the Lightning, in order of finish, were:

  • Adrianna Rosso

  • Ella McCreedy

  • Teagan Weaver

  • Amelia Burnaine

  • Nevaeh Adkins

  • Evelyn Herr

  • Josi Ridley

One performance of significance was Fiona Blunt, who improved by almost 4 minutes from her previous race!

They will race at RW next Tuesday at 4:15 p.m.

September 30, 2025

The girls cross country team dominated the competition at RW on Tuesday against Clio and Owosso. The top 7 performers for the Lightning were:

  • Natalie Brownfield

  • Adrianna Rosso

  • Evelyn Herr

  • Teagan Weaver

  • Maisy Schons

  • Amelia Burnaine

  • Nevaeh Adkins

Other significant performances included those by Bree Jean, Charlye Kulik and Chloe Watson - all taking at least an entire minute off their best time.

They will travel to Birch Run this Thursday.

October 2, 2025

The girls cross country team competed in the Birch Run Invitational on Thursday afternoon.

The team had an impressive third-place finish with their top four earning medals: Natalie Brownfield, Adrianna Rosso, Nevaeh Adkins and Teagan Weaver.

The other three rounding out the top seven included Ella McCreedy, Amelia Burnaine and Evelyn Herr.

They will travel to Fenton on Tuesday for their next race.

October 7, 2025

On Tuesday afternoon, the girls cross country team remained undefeated in league competition as they narrowly defeated Fenton.

As the season winds down, the girls are getting in great shape and racing extremely well. 

The leaders for Lapeer:

  • Adrianna Rosso, Ella McCreedy, Nevaeh Adkins, Natalie Brownfield, Teagan Weaver, Evelyn Herr and Amelia Bentz.

The team is in action tomorrow at RW, racing begins at 4:15pm.

October 9, 2025

On Thursday afternoon, the girls cross country team continued their winning ways by winning the Lapeer Halloween Invitational at RW.

Their impressive five-second spread where their first through fifth runners finished sealed the deal for the victory.  Those first  girls across the line for Lapeer were Natalie Brownfield, Evelyn Herr, Ella McCreedy, Nevaeh Adkins, Adrianna Rosso, Teagan Weaver and Maisy Schons. 

Also earning a medal were Amelia Burnaine, Charlye Kulik, Amelia Bentz, Josi Ridley and Sunny Aeder.

Their biggest race of the season will be on Tuesday at CFI, racing begins at 4pm.

October 14, 2025

The girls middle school cross country team competed in the league championships at CFI on Tuesday afternoon. 

The varsity squad finished in fourth place with the following individuals earning a medal:

  • 8th overall - Nevaeh Adkins

  • 19th - Adrianna Rosso

  • 22nd - Ella McCreedy

The junior varsity girls also had an outstanding performance, earning a second-place team finish. The individual race champion was Maisy Schons, running an amazing time of 14:05. Also medaling for the team were Charlye Kulik in fifth place and Amelia Bentz in ninth place.

Their last race of the season is this Saturday in Chesaning for regionals.

October 18, 2025

The final cross country race of the season was Saturday in Chesaning as Lapeer competed in the regional championship.

The Varsity girls finished in fourth place and the Junior Varsity girls were second.  Girls running their best time of the season included:

  • Neveah Adkins - who earned a medal and broke her own school record

  • Ella McCreedy - who also earned a medal

  • Josi Ridley

  • Laramei Bautista

  • Maddie Konkel

  • Sophia Murray

The team is reminded to bring their uniforms to the banquet this Tuesday at 4:15. Thanks for a great season!

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

September 5, 2025

The Middle School Boys XC team traveled to Algonac to open the season and finished eighth out of 19 teams. 

Liam Fleming finished in sixth place out of 207 runners.  Dimitri Nadrowski, Jackson Herr, Noah Hoff, Micah Good, and Spencer Gleason all ran strong to open the season. 

The team competes again Sept. 9 at RW against Davison.

September 9, 2025

The boys cross country team defeated Davison last night in a dual meet at RW. 

Liam Fleming lead the way for Lapeer, finishing first overall.  Jackson Herr, Noah Hoff, Micah Good, Spencer Gleason, Maverick Fuhr and Zae Shipp had strong races for Lapeer. 

The team races again on Thursday at Chesaning.  

September 11, 2025

The boys raced at Chesaning and took fifth overall. 

Liam Fleming led the way setting a new PR time of 12:13 in the two mile.  Jackson Herr finished second for the team, followed by Noah Hoff, Spencer Gleason, Zae Shipp, and Keagan Badyrka. 

The team is back in action on Tuesday at Flushing.  

September 23, 2025

The boys ran against Grand Blanc West and Carman-Ainsworth at Carman-Ainsworth last night. 

The boys finished second in the meet with Liam Fleming finishing second overall. 

Several runners ran their season-best times, including Keagen Badyrka, Jonathan Toro Diaz, Zavion Baker, Spencer Gleason, Cole Salcido, Maverick Fuhr, Logan Hendershott and Dimitri Nadrowski.

September 30, 2025

The boys were defeated at home against Owosso and Clio. 

Liam Fleming and Jackson Herr led the way for the boys.  Many runners had their best times of the season, including Jonathan Toro Diaz, Zavion Baker, Phillip Gutenschwager, Maverick Fuhr, Logan Hendershott, Jackson Herr, Dimitri Nadrowski, and Jacob Suter. 

The boys are back in action on Thursday in Birch Run.

October 7, 2025

The cool weather brought on some fast times at Fenton last night with 13 boys running their best time of the season. 

Liam Fleming and Jackson Herr led the way for the boys.  The next five finishers were Noah Hoff, Micah Good, Zae Shipp, Keagen Badyrka, and Maverick Fuhr. 

The boys run again on Thursday at RW and have the league meet next Tuesday at CFI.

The boys had an awesome showing at the Lapeer Halloween Invitational, finishing third out of nine teams!  

Liam Fleming led the way with an impressive third-place overall finish, followed by strong performances from Jackson Herr, Zavion Baker, Noah Hoff, Maverick Fuhr, Micah Good, and Keagen Badyrka.

Next up — the league championship at CFI on Tuesday.

The boys hosted the Greater Flint Middle School League championship at CFI on Tuesday. 

The boys finished 10th overall out of 15 teams. 

Liam Fleming led the way again for the Lightning.  The next six for the Lightning were Jackson Herr, Noah Hoff, Zavion Baker, Zae Shipp, Micah Good and Keagen Badyrka. 

The boys race again on Saturday at the regional championship.

Davison 38, Lapeer 4

The girls 6th/7th grade basketball fell to Davison last night. It was a tough game, but the girls never gave up. They adapted to a new defense and quick changes thought the game.

We will be preparing for our next game against Swartz Creek.

The Lapeer Lightning 7th Grade girls basketball team faced the Lake Orion Dragons, falling 38-4.

Despite the score, the Lightning showed strong defense, never gave up, and played with heart from start to finish.

They put up plenty of great shots on offense and gave their very best effort throughout the game.

The Lapeer Lightning battled hard against Swartz Creek, coming up short 28-12.

The team’s defense was tough all game long, and they created plenty of good looks on offense.

Every time they step on the court, they’re improving—and this game showed just how far they’ve come.

Great job, ladies!!

The 8th grade girls basketball team beat the Grand Blanc West Bobcats by a score of 42-24.

Eight players scored for the Lightning with Alexis Newberry leading all scorers with 22 points.

The 8th grade girls basketball team beat Grand Blanc East in a nail-biter, 37-34.

Lapeer pulled away in the last minute of play thanks to making free throws down the stretch.

Alexis Newberry led all scorers with 22 points. Victoria Witherspoon added six, Sophie Frasle had four, and Ava Josef added three.

The Lapeer Lightning put together their best game yet against Carman-Ainsworth, falling 45-29.

The team played outstanding defense, pressed for the first time, and showed great teamwork on offense. They never gave up, worked hard from start to finish, and we’re so proud of the effort they gave.

The Lapeer Lightning fell to the Lake Orion Dragons 31-15, but played one of their best games yet.

The team worked hard on both ends of the court—taking smart, open shots on offense and showing strong, determined defense throughout the game.

Their effort, teamwork, and hustle continue to shine every week!

October 8, 2025

The Lapeer Lightning earned its first win of the season with an exciting 24–13 victory over Holly!

Mia Comaroni led the team with 14 points, while Willow Hourtienne, Emma Aulph, Amelia Matthews, and Jannica Holiday each added two points.

The girls played their best defense yet, working together, hustling hard, and showing how much they’ve grown as a team.

Great job, Lightning!

The Lightning beat Holly last night 29-14.

Alexis Newberry led Lapeer with 11 points. Victoria Witherspoon scored eight and Ava Josef had six. Ella Stover.

Lilly Buckner and Madison Fox stepped up and played great defense.

The Lapeer Lightning wrapped up their season with a hard-fought game against Grand Blanc East, falling 38-22.

The girls played a great game, had lots of fun, and went out on a high note together for their final matchup of the season. Their growth, teamwork, and effort all season long were incredible to watch—couldn’t be more proud of this group and the way they finished!

Great job, ladies!

Lapeer's 8th grade girls basketball team wrapped up its season on Wednesday beating Grand Blanc East 50-17.

Alexis Newberry led all scorers with 20 points. Ava Josef had 11, Victoria Witherspoon nine, and Natalie Yens drained two three-point shots.

Carmen Norris, Ella Stover, and Lilly Buckner each added a bucket.  Reagan Wheaton, Sophie Frasle, and Madison Fox helped out on defense.

Coach Meister is super proud of the team.  Great job this year, girls!

The 8th grade football team lost to Swartz Creek on Wednesday evening by the score of 38-7.

The 8th grade Lapeer Lightning football team lost to Carman Ainsworth Wednesday evening by the score of 39-6.

October 1, 2025

The 8th grade football team lost to Grand Blanc East Wednesday evening by the score of 20-13.

Scoring touchdowns for the Lighting were Arthur Yang and Gio Malone.

October 8, 2025

The Lapeer 8th grade football team lost to the Davison Cardinals Wednesday evening by the score of 27-0.

October 15, 2025

The Lapeer Lightning 8th grade football team lost to Grand Blanc West Wednesday 51-16.

Gio Malone scored a rushing touchdown and Will Mullins scored on a 90-yard interception return.

7TH GRADE FOOTBALL

The 7th grade Lapeer Lightning football team lost to Grand Blanc West Wednesday evening by the score of 36-13.

Nolan Widzinski caught a touchdown pass from Dominic Groves and Dominic Groves also caught a touchdown pass from Ethan Russell.
