Boys Varsity & JV Bowling Recaps

December 7, 2025

The boys varsity bowling team kicked off their season yesterday in Lansing in the Kickoff Classic.

After 10 baker games, the boys qualified third out of 25 teams with a total score of 1,791. In match play, we would be up against Holt in a match that would come down to the wire. Holt would win the first game and we would win the second, then in game 3, we would tie as both teams bowled a 157 baker game.

To determine a winner, we would go into a shootout where each team would pick a bowler and would throw one ball each and whoever got the most pins on one throw would get a point for their team in a race to two points. On the first shot, both teams would throw a 7 count which resulted in a tie. On the second shot, Holt would throw a strike and Lapeer would end up with a 9 count even though it was a great shot. Holt would win the race to two with a 9 count to our 8 count on the third shot to move on to the final four.

Overall, it was a great showing for our boys who showed a lot of fight and perseverance all day long!
