Two gentlemen with the Steel Patriots motorcycle club and LHS athletic secretary pose with an AED

The Steel Patriots are proud to continue their commitment to supporting our communities and, most importantly, protecting the lives of those who matter most.

On October 7, the Steel Patriots donated an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the Lapeer High School Athletic Department.

The AED will be placed at the CFI campus under the care of head athletic trainer Jill Sylvia, where it will be available for athletic events throughout the year. It will also travel with the athletic trainer to away events when she is present.

District athletic supervisor Austin Green expressed Lapeer High School’s appreciation for the donation.

“Student safety is our No. 1 goal, and we take the safety and well-being of our students very seriously,” Green said. “In an emergency, having an AED readily available could help save a life.

“We are extremely grateful to the Steel Patriots for their generosity and their commitment to the safety and well-being of our students and our entire athletic community.”

According to Green, the donation will make a meaningful difference in helping provide “a safer environment for everyone who attends and participates in our athletic events.”

For the Steel Patriots, it’s about showing up, giving back, and helping make our communities safer and stronger. As a nonprofit motorcycle club committed to service, the Steel Patriots are proud to support schools, families, children, and communities through meaningful charitable work. AED donations are just one part of what the club does, grateful for every opportunity to make a difference.

"We sincerely thank Lapeer High School for allowing us to be part of this important effort," said the Steel Patriots. "We are honored to stand alongside our community and keep supporting causes that help others.

"This is what being a Steel Patriot is all about."
