Elementary male student and female elementary principal

Eldrick Norris is mature well beyond his nine years.

After Eldrick and his father teamed up to win a golf tournament earlier this fall, a decision was made on what to do with the $225 prize for finishing in first place.

"The first thing I thought of was my school," said Eldrick, a fourth grade student at Turrill.

When Eldrick approached proud Turrill principal Jennifer Christian with the check, her eyes welled up with emotion and pride.

"I didn't know what to say," said Christian. "I asked him what he wanted and what we could do for him and he said he wanted churros back on the lunch menu and some basketballs and footballs for recess. He's just a great kid with a great family."

Eldrick added that it was a great feeling to give back to his school.

"I just thought it was the right thing to do," he said.

Aside from golf, Eldrick said he loves playing basketball, Fortnite and Roblox and spending time with his family, which includes two dogs and a cat.

"Awesome student, awesome kid," Christian beamed. "It doesn't get any better than that."
