100th Day
of School
On February 14th, Mrs. Margrif’s math students
celebrated the 100th day of school. As part of the
daily warm-up activity, students had been counting by hundredths
each day since the beginning of the school year. A wall in the
classroom has a line of Post-it notes representing each day of
school. For example, day 98 was represented by 98/100 (reduced
to 49/50), 0.98 as a decimal, and 98%. We finally reached the
whole number one on day 100 and had a celebration.
Students brought in treats and participated in math activities
involving the number 100. Cooperative learning groups found the
25 prime numbers between 1 and 100. Students also did
100 multiplication facts to see how many they could do in 100
seconds.
It was a wonderful day as students celebrated the number 100.
Madelyn Taormina brought in three ice cream cakes for the 3rd
hour class celebration. They were delicious!
Parent
Volunteer Interest Survey
We
are encouraging all parents to take a look at some options for
getting involved at Rolland-Warner. The
survey is available to print out and it should be coming
home with your son or daughter. Please have your student return
it to the main office. Thank you.

Recycle Paper and Make Money for Our School
RWMS students and staff are starting a
recycling program that not only benefits our environment but
also earns money for our school. Starting this fall,
you’ll see a green and yellow bin located near the events
entrance at Rolland-Warner Middle School. Anyone can bring their
unwanted paper products to recycle using this bin. So start
saving your paper and support Rolland-Warner Middle School!
We will be accepting the following items:
newspapers, magazines, shopping catalogs, mail, school papers,
office papers, envelopes. |
