For close to forty years, Gary served as a classroom
history and English instructor at Seaholm High
School and during his tenure was responsible for
about fifty different courses. He taught four
different AP* subjects in high school, and looks with
pride upon his own AP* Institutes in World History
and European History back in 2003. In addition, he
taught World History at OCC and served as a student advisor
to Social Science majors at Michigan State
University.
As a “generalist”, Gary exudes an unbridled
enthusiasm for all things related to AP*. There’s no
doubt in his mind that AP* provides the truest
measure of student and teaching talent. Gary’s
enthusiasm for his mission was exhibited recently
when he spearheaded developing an AP* resource
section in the Educational Resource Lab at Pawley
Hall on Oakland University’s Campus. He intends to
develop similar resource sections at neighboring
intermediate school districts.
